CHOOSE SARCASM is our Māori-inspired clothing brand, created by our whānau in Ōtautahi, Christchurch.

We craft comfortable, affordable apparel sold throughout Aotearoa and Australia.

ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

We assisted in developing workflows and centralising systems within the organisation, including creating an intranet for staff communication.

Additionally, we supplied custom apparel for their teams and events.

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Collaborating with SignNetwork, we coordinated the installation of window manifestations for Lincoln University's Visitor Centre.

This involved working with Leighs to navigate all Health and Safety procedures and policies.

Through our clothing brand, CHOOSE SARCASM, we provide custom corporate, event, and specialised apparel.

NZ TRANSPORT AGENCY

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

We managed a national road safety initiative focusing on speed and schools, collaborating with councils and NZTA to implement safe speed measures and enhance community safety.

Our services included project management, design, and communication across Aotearoa, NZ.

KAITIAKI STUDIOS

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

We developed a bespoke arts product featured in major projects such as those at Lincoln University and the new Christchurch Stadium.

Our responsibilities encompassed research, supplier sourcing, pricing strategy, and delivery, ensuring alignment with client objectives, budgets, and timelines.

EVENT MANAGEMENT

Over three years, we managed all major events for the University of Canterbury Students' Association (UCSA), including Orientation and Winter Festivals.

This involved working with artists such as Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, FLUME, Six60, Ladyhawke, and NETSKY, overseeing all aspects from contracting to implementation.

AH BEARD

ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT

We oversaw major retail and commercial accounts for AH Beard, one of New Zealand and Australia's largest bedding manufacturers.

Clients included Harvey Norman, McKenzie and Willis, MYER, and Forty Winks across Queensland, Australia, and the South Island of New Zealand.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

We support Alice's arts business by managing scheduling and events, handling invoicing, conducting product photography, and overseeing social media and website management.

This ensures smooth operations and an enhanced online presence.

HĀPAI COLLECTIVE

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

We facilitated the establishment of this arts partnership by drafting agreements and providing ongoing support.

Our work includes branding, packaging, invoicing, and general administration, laying a solid foundation for collaborative success.

FIBRE ARTS FESITVAL

EVENT MANAGEMENT

We conceptualised and managed this event, overseeing branding, website development, ticketing, scheduling, and on-the-day implementation.

Collaborating with the Sunshine Coast District Council and The Gubbi Gubbi people, we united artists and participants from Australia and New Zealand for a three-day festival.

WORKSHOPS

EVENT MANAGEMENT

Our team has extensive experience managing arts workshops across New Zealand and Australia.

We've co-produced arts spaces and workshops at venues like the Australian Museum in Sydney and The Woodford Folk Festival in Queensland, one of Australia's largest outdoor festivals.

Just Thinking Out Loud (JTOL) has over 20 years of experience across media, major music events, arts festivals, and account and project management for both private and government sectors across New Zealand and Australia.

We have a diverse skill set in project, event, and account management, and we're pretty good with communication, branding, and sales.

We pride ourselves on being versatile and multi-skilled, understanding the importance of effective communication, time management, and logistical planning to successfully deliver projects.

MEET THE WHĀNAU

Luke, Taylor and Alice form a great team, each complementing the others' strengths and bringing a diverse range of perspectives to the table. We're a unique trio of directors, each bringing a distinct background and skill set to the company.

Taylor and Alice identify as Māori, reflecting our commitment to valuing Māori perspectives and contributions, as well as integrating cultural insights and values such as kaitiakitanga (guardianship), whānaungatanga (building relationships), and manaakitanga (caring for families and communities), and strengthening our connections with Māori communities.

We operate as a whānau business, however, our network of professional thinkers and thought leaders extends well beyond our immediate circle.

We're based in Christchurch, New Zealand but we have helped solve problems anywhere that has an internet connection.

Luke is our resident plate spinner. He can drink coffee and write an email at the same time. He loves a challenge, is a great communicator, and has years of experience in various industries in NZ and Australia from project management, media, events and more.

Alice is our creative compass and has been a practising Māori artist for over 20 years. She has exhibited and sold her work around the world, has taught and produced arts events and workshops throughout NZ, Australia, and the US. When we get too boring, we call Alice.

Taylor is our admin guru and loves a good spreadsheet. She likes to make sure Luke has all his commas in the right place. She's a great communicator, a perfectionist, has a teaching degree and that's why she is someone you want working with you.
